At Park Avenue PS, students are discovering how creativity and collaboration can lead to powerful innovations
Guided by teacher librarians, students from Grades 1 to 8 are exploring engineering, design and science by solving problems that matter to them and their communities.
From supporting bees with handmade pollinator houses, to designing gardens in unexpected places, tackling noise pollution for orcas, and creating solutions for space junk, they are taking on real-world challenges.
The learning is part of Innovators of the Future, an experiential learning series created by YRDSB consultants in partnership with teachers. The program helps students connect the science curriculum to real-world issues while building problem-solving, teamwork and critical thinking skills.
Watch how these young innovators are shaping a more sustainable and thoughtful future.
