Indigenous Languages and International Languages - Secondary Registration Closes

The York Region District School Board offers language learning for students at the elementary level (SK to Grade 8) and at the secondary level (Grades 9–12). 

 

Secondary Credit Courses 

The Indigenous Languages and International Languages (ILIL) program at the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) offers secondary credit-bearing courses (Levels B, C, D) that may count towards the Ontario Secondary Diploma and be used for post-secondary applications. Please consult your Guidance Department for academic planning and course selection.

Courses run for the full program year (from September to June) for up to 30 sessions. Choose one of the following class times: 

  1. Wednesday evenings from 5:45 PM 

  2. Saturday mornings from 8:45 AM 

Registration is now open and will close by the third class (Saturday October 3, or Wednesday, October 7).

Please Note: 

  • Not all languages are offered at the elementary and secondary levels. 

  • All courses offered are subject to enrolment and teacher availability.

  • Stacked classes may be created based on registration numbers. 

  • A $20.00 consumable/resources fee is collected in the third class, with more information provided at a later date.

  • International fee-paying visa students are required to pay an additional $1,000 fee to participate in the program.
