News Release
12/2/2018
Approximately 60 York Region public and Catholic students in Grades 5-8 are among children from around the world who are taking part in the FIRST LEGO League 2019 Challenge. To compete in the challenge, teams of young people must build and program a LEGO mindstorms robot to complete missions on a thematic playing surface. Students conduct research to discover a physical or social problem faced by humans during long duration space exploration within the sun’s solar system.
Seven teams from Georgina area schools will go head to head, putting 12 weeks of research, design, and programming to the test in a regional championship tournament to win honours and recognition.
Admission to the FIRST LEGO League event is open to the public and is free of charge.
