Regency Acres P.S. is hosting the second annual Brainpower @Regency STEAM Conference for Grade 4-8 students. The morning will begin with guest speaker, Dave Doucette, who will speak about the importance of STEAM careers in the entertainment industry. Students will then attend a series of breakout sessions.
Sessions are led by teachers, YRDSB consultants, local and Toronto business leaders, and by the York Regional Police. Sessions will include activities in robotics, engineering, woodworking and forensics fingerprinting. The conference hopes to broaden students’ knowledge of the STEAM fields and provide awareness of future career opportunities.
