Students Encourage Mental Well-Being through The Arts

​Milliken Mills H.S. is inviting Grade 6 and 7 students from local schools for a Mental Health through the Arts event. The initiative is dedicated to promoting the well-being of students through Arts performances and workshops organized by student leaders and teachers.

Visiting students will have the opportunity to watch Milliken Mills Arts performances and meet and engage in workshops alongside MMHS high school students and teachers. Students will participate in art-based activities that will teach them about the importance of self-care, student voice and mindfulness. This will include participation in art, dance, vocal, African drumming, Indigenous storytelling through artwork, and/or drama.

This day is supported by a SpeakUp grant proposed by the MMHS Equity club students.
