York Region District School Board and OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514 Ratify Agreements

Aurora, ON – York Region District School Board (YRDSB) ratified a four-year collective agreement with OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514 staff members. Members of OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514 include approximately 80 members in roles including Adult Non-Credit Instruction, ESL/LINC and Citizenship Instructors at YRDSB. 

“I would like to thank the bargaining team from OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514 and YRDSB for working over the summer months to reach a deal,” said Board Chair Ron Lynn. “We appreciate the hard work of our OPSEU staff members who provide various adult instructional roles and look forward to the school year ahead.”

“I am happy to share that we have reached a local agreement, which has been ratified by our OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514 members,” said Susan Richarz, President of OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514. “We are pleased with the gains that were made during this round of bargaining and look forward to another safe and successful school year supporting YRDSB adult learners.”

The agreements between YRDSB and OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514 include items bargained locally. As part of the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act, the local agreement will be combined with the centrally bargained terms of the provincial agreement.

Following this agreement, additional roles are joining OPSEU/SEFPO Local 514. These new roles include Pathways Coaches, PBLA coaches, Assessors and Resource Support.
