The Unionville Meadows PS string orchestra has been asked to represent Toronto in the upcoming provincial finals, after success in a regional festival.
The string ensemble, comprised of students in Grades 6-8, won platinum and best of class at the Toronto Kiwanis Festival. They have been invited to submit an entry for the Ontario Music Festivals Association Provincial Finals held in June.
“I felt to accomplished and thrilled because it proved that all of our hard work paid off,” said Nicole, a Grade 8 student in the ensemble.
“This special group of students, they always thrive in embracing new challenges and bringing hem to new heights of achievement,” said Music Teacher Sandra Wu, Unionville Meadows P.S.
The ensemble will also be performing at several events throughout May.
