Dance Party to Celebrate Family Literacy Day!

To celebrate Family Literacy Day, the Parenting and Family Literacy Centres (PFLCs) of the York Region District School Board are inviting families to enjoy “15 Minutes of Fitness & Fun” at a Dance Party being held in each of the Board’s five PFLCs. There will be a snack to make, books to read, art to create and lots of dancing, singing and reading together. In addition, families will take away a copy of York Region’s Early Years Calendar 2015.

No cost or registration required.

Note: In case of an inclement weather day, the event will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.

Why:

Family Literacy Day is a national awareness initiative held on January 27 each year to promote the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. Family Literacy Day was created in 1999 by ABC CANADA Literacy Foundation and Honda Canada.

Parenting and Family Literacy Centres, York Region families, YRDSB Trustees, superintendents, school council members, administrators and school staff.
