One-Act: Mentorship, Transitions, Community

News Release

4/2/2018

In an effort to provide elementary students with increased access to drama and performance opportunities, the York Region District School Board created the One-Act Student Mentorship program.

The mentorship program allows senior students to work with elementary performance groups as they prepare original performance pieces. Throughout the process, students have the opportunity to work in safe and collaborative learning communities that support risk taking, innovation and shared ownership of learning.

Four secondary schools will host a ‘night of play’ for elementary students to showcase their original one-act plays.
