All Elementary Schools


Length: Full Day - AM & PM

Topic: Violence Prevention and Consistent Classroom delivery and new Curriculum updates

Entity Hosting: All Elementary Schools

Presenter(s)/Facilitator(s): Online modules developed by board staff and facilitated by school administration.

Description:

School teams will engage in learning focused on:

  • healthy relationships, positive student behaviour, evidence-based de-escalation approaches, definitions of critical violent Incidents and critical injuries, and de-briefing tools
  • Opportunities to review consistent classroom delivery of the Ontario curriculum
  • Learn about new curriculum resources, including changes to the Kindergarten and Grades 7 & 8 History curricula

 

Regular Start Secondary Schools


Length: Half Day - AM 

Topic: Student Well-being, School Safety, Violence Prevention; School Improvement Planning

Entity Hosting: Regular Start Secondary Schools

Presenter(s)/Facilitator(s): Online modules developed by board staff and facilitated by school administration.

Description:

School teams will engage in professional learning focused on:

  • fostering healthy relationships
  • supporting positive student behaviour
  • revisiting plans and requirements for activating a risk-reassessment

School teams will engage in school improvement planning facilitated by administrators.

Length: Half Day - PM 

Topic: Consistent Classroom Delivery and New Curriculum Updates; School Improvement Planning

School teams will focus on consistent classroom instruction and new curriculum updates.

School teams will engage in school improvement planning focusing on: 

  • high-impact instructional practices to support student improvement in alignment with the curriculum
  • curriculum implementation as it connects to instruction, and assessment
