The Centre for Black Student Excellence (CBSE) invites YRDSB students who self-identify as Black and their parents/guardians to attend a Black Excellence Program Master Class with special guest, Dr. Howard C. Stevenson - Professor of Africana Studies and Director of the Racial Empowerment Collaborative at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Stevenson's racial literacy work offers Black families and students strategies to talk about and address anti-Black racism when it occurs. His approach to resolving racial stress offers healthy and viable ways to support the mental health and well-being of those impacted by anti-Black racism, while increasing awareness and agency.
Student registrants are invited to attend this workshop with a parent, guardian or caring adult. This event is FREE and includes a light meal.
