Regional Transportation Skills Challenge

More than 20 students from eight schools across York Region District School Board will compete in the Transportation Challenge – Automotive Service Technician Skills. Competitors will engage in realistic automotive repair situations and will demonstrate the following skills: communication, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity and innovation, time management and work safety. Additionally, students will be judged on knowledge of brakes, suspension and steering, engine diagnostics, collegial professionalism, resume and job interview assessments. The gold medal winner of the event will proceed to the Ontario Skills Competition​ in May to represent YRDSB in the Automotive Service Event. The silver medal winner will represent YRDSB in the Outdoor Powered Equipment Event.
