Sir John A. Macdonald’s 200th Birthday Party

Sir John A. Macdonald Public School (SJAM) staff, students, and community members will gather in the gymnasium for a fun celebration acknowledging the 200th birthday of Canada’s first Prime Minister and the school’s namesake. The party will feature students singing the school song, a multimedia presentation created by Grade 8s, a performance by the SJAM band and a special appearance by the school mascot, Johnny Jag. Representatives from all JK to Grade 8 classes will also present a letter to the school, along with an interesting fact about Sir John A. Together the letters from each class will spell out, “Happy Birthday Sir John A. Macdonald.”

Why:

With national celebrations taking place on January 11, SJAM will commemorate Sir John A. Macdonald’s 200th birthday during school hours on Friday, January 9, 2015. Engaging students, staff, parents and community members – the party demonstrates our commitment to building positive relationships and providing opportunities for differentiated and relevant learning opportunities.
