Aurora, ON – Principal of E.J. Sand Public School in Thornhill, Jay Wolkoff, has been named one of Canada’s Outstanding Principals by The Learning Partnership.
Wolkoff is among 30principals from across Canada who have been honoured for their outstanding contributions to publicly funded education. Wolkoff will receive his award at an awards gala on February 26, 2019.
“It is wonderful to see principals who demonstrate innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and creativity in finding solutions for their schools and communities be recognized with this award,” said Chair of the Board Corrie McBain. “This is a well-deserved honour for Jay.”
“Congratulations to Jay on receiving this award,” said Louise Sirisko, Director of Education for the York Region District School Board. “Jay’s leadership and dedication has contributed to the level of student achievement at E.J. Sand Public School.”
Wolkoff will have the opportunity to join fellow recipients in attending an executive leadership training program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Principals will also participate in The World of Work: 2020 and Beyond where they have the opportunity to learn from leaders in business, health and education.
