To prepare for the 2022 Municipal Election, York Region District School Board undertook a review of school board trustee electoral areas in what is officially called a Trustee Determination and Distribution Study.
The final report of the 2022 Trustee Determination and Distribution Study has been submitted to the Ministry of Education.
The Board retained the services of a consultant team to conduct a review and prepare recommendations for the Board’s consideration on trustee electoral area boundaries. The Board of Trustees committed to ensuring that, as the region’s population changes, electoral areas continued to reflect the communities trustees serve.
Public input was an important part of the electoral area review. Throughout the process there were a number of ways for public school supporters in York Region to learn more about the review and provide input, including several virtual consultation sessions and an online survey.
