Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year
Welcome to all of our new and returning students, families and staff members as we begin the 2026-2027 school year.
We hope everyone had an opportunity to rest and recharge over the summer. We are looking forward to welcoming students back for another year of learning, growth and achievement.
One of the highlights of this summer was watching Team Canada compete in the World Cup. While the team demonstrated great skill, they also reflected many of the qualities that Canadians value: determination, teamwork, integrity and strength through diversity. We see these qualities reflected in our schools.
Across YRDSB, students are supported by dedicated educators and staff who work every day to help them succeed. We are proud of the education we provide and the achievements of our students. Strong results, welcoming learning environments and a wide range of innovative opportunities for students are possible because of the commitment of our staff and the partnership we share with families.
This year, we will continue to focus on our strategic priorities of student achievement, health and well-being, and human rights and inclusive education, ensuring every student feels supported, included and prepared for their future.
Thank you for being part of our YRDSB community. We look forward to working with you throughout the year.
There are lots of ways to stay connected to what’s happening in the board - through your school newsletter, our newsroom, websites and social media.
If you need help with a question or concern, start by contacting your child’s school and speaking with their teacher, principal or school office. They are here to help. If you still need support, our school board's Student and Family Support Office can help.
We wish you a successful and rewarding school year ahead.
