Aurora, ON - Exceptional achievement in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) has earned six York Region District School Board (YRDSB) students Schulich Leader Scholarships to support their post-secondary studies.
The following students have been named Schulich Leaders:
- Brooklynn Gonyea, Bill Crothers S.S.
- Eli Temes, Stephen Lewis S.S.
- John Wang, Dr. G.W. Williams S.S.
- Nathaniel Moodie, Stephen Lewis S.S.
- Matthew Weinstein, Westmount C.I.
- Shanzeh Haji, Bayview S.S.
The Schulich Leader Scholarship is one of Canada’s most prestigious undergraduate awards, recognizing students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and a commitment to innovation in STEM fields. Since 2012, the program has awarded more than $100 million in scholarships, supporting up to 100 students across Canada each year.
Each YRDSB recipient plans to pursue studies in STEM fields, with interests ranging from engineering and computer science to health sciences and research innovation.
