What:

3rd Annual Regional Parent Symposium – “Parent Voice Matters!”

Recognizing that parent voice is important, the York Region District School Board and its Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC) has invited parents from each school to an evening of learning and sharing. The symposium will focus on differentiated approaches to parent engagement and feature a variety of workshops to provide parents with tools that support their children’s learning and well-being in the areas of math, modern learning and mental health.

This event will be live streamed and available online at www.yrdsb.ca. Parents can follow along and join the conversation on Twitter using #yrdsbparentvoice.

5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Why:

The symposium aims to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement in order to improve student achievement and well-being. Workshops will focus on successful strategies for improved parent engagement across the system.

Who:

Participants will include parents of students attending York Region District Board schools and school administrators. Participants register at their school. Parent and student volunteers have been actively engaged in the planning and implementation of this event.
