End of Year Message

Last updated on

Dear families,

As we wrap up another school year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments, growth and milestones that have shaped this year.

We began this year with the launch of our new Multi-Year Strategic Plan, set by the Board of Trustees. The plan outlines three key priorities that shape our work and commitment to students: Student Achievement, Health and Well-Being, and Human Rights and Inclusive Education.

Throughout the year, we’ve seen these priorities come to life—in classrooms, on playing fields, in performances and competitions, and in the many ways our students continue to learn and grow.

None of this is possible without the people who make up our YRDSB community. We want to extend our sincere appreciation to our students for their creativity, curiosity and resilience; to our families for their continued partnership and support; and to our dedicated staff for their commitment and contributions to student achievement and well-being every single day.

At this time of year, we celebrate some important milestones and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all of our elementary and secondary school graduates. We hope that students take pride in being a York Region District School Board graduate and know that we take great pride in all of their accomplishments.

As you celebrate the achievements and growth of your child over the past school year, we would like to share that end of year report cards will be available in the Family Dashboard in the coming weeks. In addition, all elementary school websites have been refreshed to improve accessibility, translation options and ease of use. Secondary school websites will be updated in the fall.

We are deeply grateful for the trust and collaboration of our families, the passion and professionalism of our staff, and the spirit and potential of our students.

Please see this important end of year message from Minister of Education, the Honourable Paul Calandra. This message is also available on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X.

We also invite you to read these important messages:

Thank you for being part of our learning community. We wish you a safe, restful and joyful summer—and we look forward to welcoming students back in 2025-2026.

Sincerely,

Ron Lynn, Chair
