Dear families,
As we come to the end of another school year, we have much to reflect on and be proud of. Across York Region District School Board, our students have demonstrated growth and achievement in so many ways. These accomplishments reflect their hard work and determination, the ongoing partnership between schools and families, and the care and expertise of staff.
This year, we have seen students shine across a wide range of areas, including the arts, athletics, science and mathematics, French-language learning, entrepreneurship, STEM and many more. You can see many great examples of this in our Applause Awards and our newsroom. They offer a snapshot of some of the rich learning opportunities and successes our students have experienced this year.
To our graduating students, congratulations. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and wish you every success in your next chapter. Graduation is an important milestone - and it is always a pleasure to see students celebrating alongside family, friends and staff. We look forward to seeing where your path leads.
As you begin to look ahead to the summer months, there are a few resources we want to share.
- We offer a variety of summer programs for elementary and secondary school students.
- Our mental health team has put together a Summer Wellness Guide in partnership with student leaders.
- The YRDSB Transition Hub offers information and strategies to support students and families during key transitions, with specific resources for students with special education needs. It may be helpful as you look ahead to the new school year.
What stands out most this year is the strength of our community and our shared commitment to supporting student achievement and well-being.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team, thank you for the trust you place in us and for the many ways you support your children's learning, contribute to your school communities and help create positive experiences for students. We are grateful for your partnership and remain committed to listening, learning and working together in service of our students and families.
