Grade 2 Students Share Their Thoughts on the Benefits of Outdoor Learning

It is Take Me Outside Day and Grade 2 students from Pleasantville P.S. share their thoughts on the benefits of outdoor education and time spent outside.

The students visited Swan Lake Outdoor Education Centre and participated in their Bears Beware program. Students in grades 2, 4 and 7 have the opportunity to visit one of the board's five outdoor education centres and particiapte in hands-on, outdoor learning.

"The students are having an amazing time. This is an excellent place to come and make sure every student gets out. Every year they invite tham and it's a fantastic property to learn and see and enjoy and just appreciate nature," said Debbie Tuchow, Teacher, Pleasantville P.S.

"It's so nice to spend tme outside. I also find that your curiousity is piqued and your connection to nature is heightened when you're outside in the space," said Gina Shillolo, Teacher, Swan Lake Outdoor Education Centre.
