Indigenous students at Sutton D.H.S. won an editing suite and film lab for their school after creating a short film.
The students in the Sutton D.H.S. First Nations Study Centre have been working with the Road to Freedom Program to provide access to learning and tools around the arts and creativity. Students used that learning to create a short horror film, doing the set design, special effects, make-up, filming, acting and editing.
In addition to winning an editing suite and film lab, the students have had an opportunity to participate in training and workshops on photography, acting, lighting and more to help build their skills.
This new suite will enable students to continue developing their skills and share their talents and creativity.
