International Human Rights Day

December 10 is International Human Rights Day, which commemorates the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations in 1948. The UDHR is a milestone document that sets out the basic rights for everyone regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, religion, disability or any other status.

In honour of Human Rights Day on December 10, the YRDSB in collaboration with the Human Right’s Commissioner’s Office will be sending a human rights facts throughout the week of December 5 to 9, 2022.
