Course Description:
This course focuses on the development of leadership skills used in managing a successful business. Students will analyze the role of a leader in business, with a focus on decision making, management of group dynamics, workplace stress and conflict, motivation of employees, and planning. Effective business communication skills, ethics, and social responsibility are also emphasized.

Required Software/Equipment:
At a minimum, students should have access to the following software and equipment.
- Computer
- Internet connection (high speed is preferable since some demonstrations and activities may take a long time to download on a dial-up connection)
- media player (to view streaming video) generally a free download, if not already included with Internet Explorer
- Adobe Reader free software that lets you view, print, search, and share Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files
- word processing software such as Microsoft Word, Corel Word Perfect or Star Office Writer. Students can download a free office suite at OpenOffice.org presentation software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Corel Presentations or Star Office Impress.
