Indigenous Education Advisory Council Terms of Reference

The Indigenous Education Advisory Council (IEAC) is a part of the formalized process to support the board's implementation of the First Nation, Métis and Inuit framework as stipulated by the Ministry of Education (Ontario First Nation, Métis and Inuit Education policy framework. 2007. p. 20).

IEAC is to guide the school board in developing strategies that: build stronger relationships with Indigenous communities; share information; identify promising practices for student well-being and achievement; and enhance collaborative work to support First Nation, Métis, and Inuit student achievement and well-being.

The IEAC Terms of Reference outline the role of the council, objectives, operations, meeting protocols, membership and resources available to support the council.
