A YRDSB Story: Land Acknowledgement Through Movement

Meet Anita McFarlane and her Grade 7 and 8 students from Baythorn Public School. She designed a lesson for her students that focused on digging deeper into the meaning of the Land Acknowledgement, and how they could reimagine it. The students were challenged with three questions:

  • Who am I?

  • What is my purpose?

  • Why am I here?

This all resulted in a beautiful video of a dance performance, which was recorded and edited by Anita and her students.
