Alliance of Educators for Black Students (AEBS) Annual Student Achievement Awards 2022 | “Celebrating Black Excellence”

School staff may nominate a student in Grades 4-12 for demonstrating success in one of the following areas: the arts, academics, athletics, and citizenship. Please speak to your school administrator for further information.

Date: Wednesday, June 8, 2022

Time:  5:30 pm - 7:30 pm (EST)

Scholarships


BFCN Scholarship  BFCN believes that access to education of all forms is important for the continued success and development of youth in our community. Their Scholarship Program is designed to address a few of the gaps and barriers in order to increase access to post-secondary education and support Black students and their families.

Deadline: July 31, 2022

 

The Markham African Caribbean Canadian Association (MACCA) will be awarding Scholarships of $1,000 to each selected recipient. Selection is based on students’ involvement and dedication to their community and academic achievements. One outstanding student that excels in these areas and demonstrates that they have gone above and beyond will receive the President’s award.

Deadline: June 30, 2022

York Region Alliance of African Canadian Communities (YRAACC) and Sankofa Mentoring Program | Summer Outdoor Program

The Sankofa Program is offering a solution to online fatigue. The entire family is invited to reconnect and have fun. Join on most Saturdays for family fun, / food /games, prizes, African drumming, and workshops to bring the community together. For more information visit YRAACC.
