Grade 5 and 6 students from across York Region developed their environmental leadership skills at a two-day summit held at the Kortright Centre for Conservation.
Students participated in activities designed to inspire and equip them to take a leadership role in their schools on environmental conservation, such as:
- taking a nature hike
- building wind turbines
- creating outdoor art
- participating in teambuilding exercises.
Students were encouraged to take the learning back to their schools to help everyone do their part toward a sustainable and healthy environment.
