Mature Students

Applicants who have NOT obtained an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, AND who will be 19 years of age by the program start date, may be considered for admission to the colleges as mature students.

Mature students will be considered on an individual basis and testing may be conducted for an evaluation of their academic potential.

Mature applicants must also meet the specific program eligibility requirements in order to be accepted.

NOTE: If you graduated from high school (even decades ago), you are considered a high school graduate.

Please note that the colleges, not OCAS (the Ontario College Application Service), determine if an applicant is eligible for mature student status.

For information about mature student status please contact the Admissions office of the college or university you wish to apply. Please note that the universities, not the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC), determine if an applicant is eligible for mature student status.
