News Release

Teams of secondary students will work with policy experts, community leaders and entrepreneurs to come up with new solutions to address climate change. Students will experience design thinking and then pitch their ideas to a panel of judges that includes representatives from Ontario EcoSchools, Innovation York, Launch Zone and Seneca Helix.

Selected pitches will have the opportunity for further mentorship and go on to present their ideas to a panel of judges at YRDSB’s Quest conference on November 18.

The Board is collaborating with the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change to deliver this learning opportunity.

At the same time, YRDSB teachers will engage in professional learning offered through Rotman School of Management’s I-Think Initiative on design thinking and innovation.
