2nd Annual Regional Parent Symposium – "Parent Voice Matters!"

​What:

Recognizing that parent voice is important, the York Region District School Board and its Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC) has invited parents from each school to an evening of learning and sharing. The symposium will focus on differentiated approaches to parent engagement and feature a variety of workshops that will provide parents with tools to support their children’s learning and well-being. When:

Wednesday, April 15, 2015
5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Why:

The symposium aims to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement in order to improve student achievement and well-being. Workshops will focus on successful strategies for improved parent engagement across the system. The workshops will be aligned with the key goals outlined in the Ministry’s renewed vision for education in Ontario. Please note that this event will be live streamed and video-taped for future viewings and will be available at www.yrdsb.ca.

Who:

Participants will include parents of students attending York Region District Board schools and school administrators. Participants register at their school. Parent volunteers have been actively engaged in the planning and implementation of this event.
