News Release
2/11/2018
Highgate Public School staff and students will take advantage of the many learning opportunities that winter provides to help build positive well-being in students from Kindergarten to Grade 8.
Students and staff will celebrate their winter well-being by participating in outdoor winter games and activities such as snow shoeing, sledding, and painting in the snow. They will learn about the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Korea through games such as curling, hockey and an Olympic obstacle course.
The Highgate community will also celebrate with community members from the Woollen Warmth Project. The vision of this project is to knit various winter items for local community members. There will be 200 knitted hats, mittens and scarves on display in the hopes of calling attention to this need in the community and to potentially inspire other like-minded groups to do something similar in their communities.
