May 16, 2022 – Sixteen outstanding students, representative of approximately 125,000 in the York Region District School Board, were honoured at the Board's annual Celebrating Student Success dinner and awards ceremony.
“This event recognizes the accomplishments of students as well as the role of teachers, principals and parents in supporting public education across York Region,” said Allan Tam, Chair of the Board. “These 16 recipients are representative of the thousands of students who achieve success every day in our Board.”
“These 16 students have dedicated themselves to helping others achieve success or have worked to overcome their own personal challenges to achieve success,” said Louise Sirisko, Director of Education. “They are the leaders of tomorrow who are making a difference in their communities and classrooms today.”
