The Dismantling Anti-Black Racism Strategy — which was co-developed by the Black community, Black staff, and the YRDSB — represents the beginning of coordinated efforts to address anti-Black racism at the Board.
The Early Years Strategy outlines actions that system leaders, school leaders, and early years educators in both school and early learning/childcare settings can take to strengthen experiences and outcomes for children in our care.
The Indigenous Education and Equity Strategy provides direction to foster the development of high levels of critical consciousness and transformative practice that fulfill the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action (PDF), foster accessible and equitable schools and classrooms, and improve outcomes for all students.
The YRDSB Leadership Framework focuses on all actions that are valued in YRDSB leaders. The YRDSB Leadership Framework was created as a complement to the Ontario Leadership Framework with a view to making equity and ethical leadership competencies clear. The YRDSB Leadership Framework is organized into four Domains and eight Competencies.
The Mathematics Strategy provides direction to support students in becoming confident problem solvers who use mathematical knowledge, skills and processes essential for participation in a changing society.
The Mental Health and Addiction Strategy provides direction to foster optimal mental health and well-being.
The Staff Well-Being and Mental Health Strategy guides us in maintaining a healthy and productive workforce that ultimately supports student success. Staff well-being involves supporting staff members to maintain a balance between physical, cognitive, emotional and social resources and challenges.
The Transition Strategy: Towards Disability Justice aims to remove barriers, build equitable, inclusive, consistent evidence-based practices across the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) and improve access to essential information, support and resources related to transitions for students with disabilities and their families/caregivers.
