Students Earn Credit and Celebrate Identity in The Come Up Summer Program

The Come Up Program gives self-identifying Black students the opportunity to earn a high school credit by participating in a fun and dynamic program. Each activity and workshop is designed to prepare and support Black students as they embark on a new journey.

"When I first came in, I came in for the credit, to be honest. But then I stayed for the culture and what it did for me.  It really helped me affirm my identity. I knew who I was," said Jamel, Grade 9 student.

"It's amazing because I get to learn a lot about my Black History that I didn't know a lot of before," said Jurnee, Grade 9 student. "And also getting to hear from other people's perspectives and them joining in the conversation has been really special to me."
