Remote Night School Credit Classes

2026-2027

All Remote Night School courses are for students under the age of 21 and for students over the age of 21 who wish to take a course not offered in Adult Online Learning School. Students may take only one (1) Night School credit per semester.

Night School courses are an excellent opportunity for students to take a new course that is not available at their home school or retake a course previously taken to upgrade a mark, as well as for adult learners working towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Prior to approving a Night School course for a student that attends a YRDSB day school, home schools will first attempt to accommodate course requests in the day school timetable.  Please see your YRDSB guidance counselor if you have further questions.

The program will be delivered virtually in real-time (synchronous). Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:45 p.m. All students will be required to write an in-person Final Exam at the Education Support Centre (39 Dunning Avenue, Aurora, Ontario).

Students must have access to a desktop, Chromebook, or laptop computer with high-speed internet to do coursework. Cellphones are not suitable for completing required coursework.

Camera Expectations for YRDSB Continuing Education Learners: To promote engagement and academic integrity, students are expected to keep their cameras on during remote synchronous classes. This allows for better educator-student interaction, immediate instructional support, and a more cohesive learning experience for everyone. This aligns with the quality of our in-person classrooms. For more information regarding this requirement, please contact continuing.education@yrdsb.ca

Before the start of the program, students will receive an email with instructions on how to join the class on the first day. YRDSB students will log in with their gapps accounts and non-YRDSB students will be provided with different instructions that will be sent to the email address provided on their registration form.
