York Region District School Board is accepting applications for membership on two advisory committees that provide important family and community perspectives at the Board level.
Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC)
Applications open: May 14 to June 10, 2026
The Parent, Family and Community Engagement Advisory Committee (PEAC) offers families a meaningful opportunity to share their perspectives and support family engagement at the Board level to improve student achievement and well-being. Committee members work together to help strengthen family engagement and ensure that diverse voices are reflected in public education.
Applications are open to YRDSB parents, caregivers and family members.
PEAC members are expected to attend a minimum of five meetings each year.

Equity and Inclusivity Advisory Committee (EIAC)
Applications open: May 11 to June 15, 2026
Equity and Inclusivity Advisory Committee (EIAC) supports the school board’s commitment to providing equitable and inclusive learning and working environments in all schools and workplaces of the Board. The committee provides advice on the implementation of the Board’s Equity and Inclusivity Strategy, policies and procedures and helps ensure that the Board addresses all dimensions of diversity.
Applications are open to family and community members.

EIAC members are expected to attend six committee meetings each year.

Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)
The Special Education Advisory Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the Board with respect to any matter affecting the establishment and development of special education programs and services for exceptional pupils of the Board. YRDSB is currently accepting nominations from local associations and organizations. Associations or organizations that support the interests and well-being of exceptional children or adults in Ontario are invited to nominate a representative who meets the SEAC membership criteria.
