May 17, 2024 – Sixteen outstanding students, representative of over 128,000 in the York Region District School Board (YRDSB), were honoured at the Board's annual Celebrating Student Success dinner ceremony on May 1.
“We are so proud of each of the award recipients from this year’s Celebrating Student Success,” said YRDSB Board Chair Ron Lynn. “We recognize that education is a collaborative effort between students, families, caregivers, educators, and support staff, so we thank everyone involved for their efforts. We are honoured to be a part of each student’s journey.”
“We have so many students who are deserving of recognition at YRDSB,” said Director of Education Bill Cober. “These sixteen students have each had different paths to get here, however, they all share one thing, and that is their commitment to excellence. Their successes serve as inspiration for those who will follow them as the YRDSB students of the future.”
