It has been my honour and privilege to serve the students and families of York Region as trustee for the past eight years, including the last four as Chair of the Board. As this board’s term comes to conclusion, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my fellow trustees and to the entire York Region District School Board community.

Dear families, As we come to the end of another school year, we have much to reflect on and be proud of. Across York Region District School Board, our students have demonstrated growth and achievement in so many ways. These accomplishments reflect their hard work and determination, the ongoing partnership between schools and families, and the care and expertise of staff.

Over the past few weeks, many of us have been cheering on Canadian athletes at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As we said in our last message, it is so inspirational to watch the perseverance and determination of Team Canada.

One of the most powerful aspects of the Olympic Games is the way the country comes together—uniting to cheer on our athletes, celebrate their achievements, and lift them up through both triumphs and challenges. That same spirit of collective pride and support is reflected in our board and school communities. It is deeply inspiring to see how families, staff and students come together to recognize effort, celebrate success and stand alongside one another.
