The YRDSB Instagram account is managed by Corporate Communications on behalf of all YRDSB staff. We may occasionally use some automation (such as tools that generate posts), but intend that this will not dominate the messages being posted.
If you follow us, you can expect posts about the following:
alerts about new content on our website;
invitations to provide feedback on specific topics;
information regarding strategic planning and priority projects;
information regarding emergent issues;
information regarding special events or recognitions received by YRDSB or its students/employees;
information or links to information regarding school closures or emergency situations;
occasional live coverage of events;
news about YRDSB schools, departments and stakeholders;
occasional information from some of the Ministry of Education or our community partners.

If you follow us on Instagram, we will not automatically follow you back. This is to avoid wasting resources and to handle spammers. Being followed by YRDSB does not imply endorsement of any kind.
Availability
We will update and monitor our Instagram account during regular office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. However, if necessary, YRDSB staff will provide after hours information to keep our stakeholders aware. Instagram may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility due to this downtime. YRDSB reserves the right to change, suspend or terminate its Instagram account at any time.

Comments and Direct Messages
We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and will endeavour to join the conversation when possible. However, we may not be able to reply individually to all comments and messages received on Instagram. YRDSB will not respond with details regarding identifiable individuals, including students and staff. Community members looking to resolve individual concerns regarding their children are encouraged to contact communications@yrdsb.ca; or through the Contact Us section of the website.
All comments and direct messages are read and emerging themes or suggestions are passed on to the appropriate staff members at YRDSB.
Any material deemed to be illegal, hateful, offensive, and/or threatening is reportable and can result in serious consequences. Please think before you post.
