Stages of the Proces​s

There are three (3) stages to the Superintendent of Education Selection process, each assessing candidates on different aspects of their leadership skills and abilities.  

If successful, candidates will receive communication from the Recruitment team and will move to the next stage of the process.

Eligible and interested candidates are encouraged to consider this leadership opportunity.

In order to apply to the posting, candidates must complete the following steps:

  • Create a profile on Apply to Education (ATE). 
  • Upload Cover letter (maximum of 1 page)
  • Upload Resume (4 page maximum; including listed references; black font - Arial, size - 11)
  • Upload most recent Principal Performance Appraisal
  • The Selection Team will review all applications for eligibility by criteria and determine a list of candidates to move forward to Stage Two.

The in person interview is as follows: 

  • The candidate shall respond to a variety of interview questions
  • The Selection Team will review and score Stage Two responses and determine a short-list to move forward to Stage Three

References will be contacted in this final stage of the process.

  • Three (3) professional referees who have supervised you, including name and detailed contact information; one of which must be your current Superintendent/Supervisor. It is good practice in any process to pre-conference with referees prior to providing them as a reference. 
  • Candidates do not need the permission of their Superintendent/Supervisor to apply to the Superintendent Selection Process; the decision to apply is the candidate’s.
