Pre-Application Process
Candidates are required to create an account in BetterEducate by creating a Username and Password in order to access required documents for the application process. Please follow the steps in this Quick Reference Guide (PDF) to log in to Better Educate and access the My Leadership Profile which gets uploaded to the Additional Documents section under Supporting Documents in Apply to Education (ATE). Once candidates have created an account, they will be able to access their dashboard where the My Leadership Profile is located.
The completion and submission of the candidate's My Leadership Profile will inform the application as part of the selection process through the demonstration of the candidate's “leadership actions and corresponding evidence of impact”.
Note: Each leadership competency only holds a maximum of 2000 characters.
Application to Posting through Apply to Education (ATE)

In order to apply to the posting, candidates must complete the following steps:
- After Candidates complete their My Leadership Profile on BetterEducate, candidates download and save the PDF document to their computer.
- Create a profile on ATE. Candidates will be required to upload their cover letter and resume. Ensure your resume is in a format where the dates of your educational background, additional qualifications/professional certifications and work experience are in chronological order. Note: the alignment of your work experience is captured in My Leadership Profile within the BetterEducate tool and is not required to be included in your resume.
- Once the ATE profile/portfolio has been completed, candidates will then upload their saved My Leadership Profile (PDF) to the Additional documents section, which can be found under Supporting documents.
- The Selection Team will review all applications for eligibility by criteria and determine a list of candidates to move forward to Stage 2.
Steps to Register with Apply to Education (ATE) and to Apply to the Job Posting
To register and apply for a job posting, you must complete all four (4) steps:
- Visit our online employment application and either log into your account or create an account if you do not have one.
- Complete a Portfolio (e.g. resume, professional supervisory references, etc.)
- Search Job Postings and Apply
- Verify that you have applied to the correct job posting in the ‘Jobs Applied To’ section
