As we approach the end of the semester, I want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, families and community partners.
For secondary school students preparing for final exams, we recognize this can be a stressful time. I encourage you to take care of your well-being and to remember that school staff are there to help. We have put together some exam tips that may help you in preparing. We are here to support your success and well-being.
Course selection is also approaching and students who will be in secondary school next year will be selecting courses for the 2025-2026 school year. There are so many courses, programs, extra-curricular activities and other opportunities that will help you build transferable skills, gain experience and explore your interests. If you have questions about course selection or want to make sure you’re taking the right courses to graduate or achieve your goals, make an appointment with your guidance counsellor or speak with a staff member.
Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2025-2026 school year, and we look forward to warmly welcoming our youngest learners and supporting them as they begin their educational journey. In Kindergarten, students build foundational skills and foster their natural curiosity and creativity.
Beyond Kindergarten, we continue to offer enriching opportunities for elementary school students. French Immersion registration is currently open as well for the next school year. Recently, a group of Grade 5 and 6 students from across York Region came together for two days of learning centred on environmental leadership. In the coming months, we are looking forward to upcoming elementary robotics challenges. These are just a few examples of events and opportunities where we see students showcasing and developing their skills, in addition to the great work happening every day in our classroom.
I want to express my appreciation to all of the staff members across York Region District School Board who educate, inspire, support and show up for all of our students.
I am also grateful for the partnership we have with families that enables us to better support and advance student success and well-being and achieve our Board priorities. As the semester comes to a close, I also want to remind families that when report cards are available, you can access them in the Family Dashboard. If you prefer a paper copy, you can request one from the school office. The dashboard is designed to make it easier for families to access important information.
Thank you for all that you do, and we look forward to continuing to work with you in support of our students and their success.
