Stay On Track for Graduation

As you move through secondary school, it is important to monitor your progress toward graduation.

Use My Pathway Planner to track your credits, review your achievement record and ensure you are meeting graduation requirements.

If you have questions about your progress, timetable, transcript or graduation requirements, speak with your guidance counsellor.

Ontario Student Status Report (OSSR)

The Ontario Student Status Report in My Pathway Planner provides a snapshot of your progress toward graduation.

The report includes:

  • Compulsory and optional credits and marks earned
  • Community involvement hours completed
  • Literacy requirement completion

You can use the report to track and plan your progress toward graduation and make sure you are fulfilling graduation requirements.

Important: The Ontario Student Status Report is not an official transcript and cannot be used as one.

Ontario Student Transcript

The Ontario Student Transcript (OST) is the official record of your secondary school achievement.

It is a legal document summarizing:

  • your secondary school credits (both failed and achieved)
  • type of diploma received
  • month and year of graduation

After graduation, if you need to request a transcript, you can contact Transcript Services

Dropping or Repeating a Course

Before dropping a course, speak with your guidance counsellor to understand how it may affect your graduation plan and transcript.

Grade 9 and 10

Withdrawals and failures from Grade 9 and 10 courses are not recorded on the Ontario Student Transcript.

Grade 11 and 12

If you withdraw from a Grade 11 or 12 course within five instructional days after the first provincial report card is issued in a semestered course, the course will not be recorded on the transcript. In a non-semestered course, students can withdraw within five days after the second provincial report card, and the course will not be recorded on the transcript.

If you withdraw from a Grade 11 or 12 course more than five days after the reporting period, a withdrawal (W) is entered in the credit column. Your mark at the time of withdrawal is recorded as a percentage in the achievement column of the transcript.

If you repeat a course again in Grade 11 or 12, each attempt and the mark will be recorded in the transcript with only one credit granted. The course with the lower mark will have an “R” entered in the credit column. If you have questions about this, speak to a guidance counsellor or the principal.
