I want to take this opportunity to welcome all of our students and families back to school, on behalf of the Board of Trustees.

We know this school year will look a little different, whether you are participating in online learning or returning to the classroom. What has not changed is our commitment to delivering high-quality public education to all of our students.

Staff members have been working hard over the summer months with the Ministry of Education and public health experts to develop a reopening plan that prioritizes the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff members.

These health and safety measures, and information about what you can expect when you return to school both online and in the classroom are available on the Board website and continue to be updated. I encourage families to take the time to review them.

Our relationship with families is of the utmost importance. You are our partners in education, and we look forward to working with you throughout the 2020-2021 school year to support your child’s learning, achievement and well-being.

As a Board, we continue to focus on the four priorities set out in our Multi-Year Strategic Plan:

  • Fostering Well-Being and Mental Health,

  • Building Collaborative Relationships,

  • Championing Equity and Inclusivity, and

  • Empowering Ethical Leadership.

At the heart of all of our decision-making is our commitment to providing welcoming, inclusive and safe learning environments that enable all of our students to learn, grow and achieve success.

I hope you have a great start to the school year and wish you a happy, healthy and successful year ahead.

Sincerely,

Juanita Nathan

Board Chair
