Welcome back to school, and a very special welcome to students and families who are new to York Region District School Board. We hope that everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer, and is looking forward to the new school year ahead. For our students starting elementary or secondary school, we would like to let you know that our skilled staff and educators are working hard to ensure a positive transition experience that helps students feel supported, energized and engaged.
Our staff members have been working hard to prepare to welcome our students back to school. We want to thank staff members for all that they do to help make this a positive and supported transition for all students and families. We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s learning, achievement and well-being.
We want to take this opportunity to let you know that as a school board, we will be engaging in a process to refresh the Trustees’ Multi-Year Strategic Plan this year. This plan outlines our priorities and sets our direction as a school board. This review process will involve community consultation and we look forward to sharing more information about this process and opportunities for you to provide input.
At the start of each year, families receive important start-up information about your school and the school year. Please take the time to review this information and the online Guide to the School Year and to complete the important start-up forms you will receive by email.
We are committed to partnering with you. The Family Resources page on the Board website provides helpful links to online tools and resources for families in support of student learning and well-being. You can also find information about community resources and supports.
