Heritage Fair (Grades 7, 8, 10) - Suspended until further notice

The Heritage Fairs Program is a multi-media initiative developed to increase public awareness and interest in Canadian history. Heritage Fairs offer students the opportunity to explore the many aspects of their Canadian heritage in a dynamic learning environment and to present the results of their efforts in a public exhibition.

During the school year, students from across York Region take part in fairs at their schools. If selected, they will take their project to the YRDSB Regional Fair in the Spring. Not only do these students have the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of community members, educators, and museum professionals, but they will also participate in workshops and other group activities hosted by local area museums.

The YRDSB Heritage Fair is an engaging opportunity for students to explore the contributions and stories of our diversity through an inquiry lens. Students will have the opportunity to take part in school based, regional, and a provincial fair.

YRDSB teachers interested in taking part can message museum@yrdsb.ca for more information and resources.
