Grade 10: York Region and the World Wars


Museum staff bring a selection of artifacts into the classroom, with an accompanying slide deck lesson. Using the historical thinking concepts to help students further understand the connections between WWI and WWII, as well as ties to York Region, students will:  

  • Explore the roles of Black Canadians and Indigenous Peoples and their contributions to both World Wars
  • Develop historical literacy skills through the use of primary sources.
  • Critically think about primary and secondary source research and understand how to conduct inquiry based research.

Grade 11 Co-op Program


(1-2 placements per school year)

Students will work with artifacts​ in the collection, entering information into the online catalogue and research and develop an exhibit to be displayed at a YRDSB administrative building.
