Post-Secondary Events

Making the transition to a post-secondary education at one of Ontario's 150 skilled trades, 28 colleges or 20 universities can be a difficult task. In this section you will find all the information that you need in order to make decisions about where to apply and how to pay for your post-secondary education.

Events

  • Ontario Universities Fair comes to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on the last weekend in the Fall. It is an opportunity for students and parents to speak directly with university admission representatives and faculty from the provinces' universities.
  • Ontario College Information Fair occurs at the end of October and provides students and parents the opportunity to investigate diploma, degree and certificate programs offered at the provinces' colleges.
  • Level Up- Apprenticeship Fair is a multi-day career fair events that happens every fall that bring together skilled trades professionals across industry organizations, post-secondary institutions, businesses, associations and more.
  • Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) is a specialized program in high school that allows you to explore apprenticeship and consider careers in the skilled trades, generally starting in Grade 11 or Grade 12 through the cooperative education program.
  • Accelerated Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) students in their last semester of high school can earn high school credits, and register as an apprentice.  There is an open house every fall and students from grade 10-12 are encouraged to attend to explore the apprenticeship pathway.
  • Skilled Trades Ontario - this is the one-stop shop for opportunities in the skilled trades, and how to get started after graduating high school.
