What are other ways to earn credits outside of regular day school program?

There are many opportunities for you to earn secondary school credits outside of the regular day school program. Registration for these courses requires approval from your guidance department:

 

Music Certificates Accepted For Credit

Students who are working towards their OSSD are able to use specified music certificates towards credits. For more information about the certificate requirements, please contact the Guidance Services Department in your school. For specific requirements, please review Ontario Schools, K-12 Policy and Program Requirements (pg. 107).

Aquatic Leadership Program

This program uses a blended learning format consisting of pool instruction, face-to-face instruction in class and on-line learning. Upon completion, successful students may earn credits and qualifications to be a trained lifeguard and swim instructor.  It is offered in partnership between the Continuing Education,York Region District School Board and the City of Markham, Town of Aurora, City of Richmond Hill and the City of Vaughan.

Personalized Alternative Education

You can earn credits in a smaller class environment with personalized timetables and alternative learning approaches to meet your individual needs.
